The Peters Creek Historical Society will observe the founding of the society and its headquarters, the Enoch Wright House in Venetia, with an anniversary celebration from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday. The event will begin with the raising of the flag, opening remarks and a proclamation given by Washington County Commissioner Harlon G. Shober Jr., and will conclude Sunday with the burial of a time capsule. There will be tours of the house and log cabin, a quilt display, 19th century children’s games, a storyteller, roving musicians and re-enactors. Hot dogs and beverages will be sold.

Brownsville area’s nondenominational youth group for 11- to 17-year-olds will meet from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Fort Burd United Presbyterian Church, 200 Thornton Road, Brownsville.

Mon Valley Coin Club will meet at 2 p.m. Sunday at 303 Chamber Plaza in Charleroi. The program is buffalo nickels. Applications are being accepted for membership. A 50/50 raffle will be offered, and children’s prizes will be awarded. For more information, call 724-984-6611.

Craft show and sale will be held from noon to 6 p.m. Tuesday at Asbury Heights, 700 Bower Hill Road, Pittsburgh. All of the items are made by the residents and include hand-painted glassware, wreaths, fashion Teddy bears, bracelets, beauty care products and designer dish scrubbies. All proceeds will benefit Asbury’s Benevolent Care Fund. There also will be a Stampin’ Up demonstration and Sabika Jewelry.

A Premier Jewelry fundraiser will begin at 7 p.m. May 26 at First Church of God, 157 N. Second St., West Newton. Dessert also will be served. For more information, call Kathy Joseph at 724-835-6074.

Waynesburg Senior Quilters Raffle is underway. Cost is $2 per ticket for the nine-patch, queen-size quilt. Drawing will be held May 26. For more information or to purchase tickets, call the Waynesburg Community Center at 724-627-6366.

East Finley Township Park, 700 Templeton Run Road, Claysville, will hold its first community yard sale at 7 a.m. May 27. There will be household items, crafts, clothing and food.
