Free program offers assistive devices

The Telecommunication Device Distribution Program is a free service to all qualifying residents of Pennsylvania.
The program is part of the Assistive Technology Act of 1998 and provides equipment to those who cannot use standard telephone equipment due to a disability. Devices in the TDDP catalog can address not just hearing loss, but also vision, mobility, dexterity or any combination.
As of February, the income limits have been raised to $24,120 for a single person and commensurate increases for each member of the household. Demonstrations are available to make sure people find the right fit for them.
