Addison Barr was named to the dean’s list with a 3.96 grade-point average at Waynesburg University, where she is majoring in athletic training/physical therapy. She is a member of the women’s volleyball team and was named Waynesburg University Athletic Training Freshman of the Year. Barr is a 2016 graduate of Trinity High School. Her parents are Dan and Lisa Barr of Washington.
Christopher M. Childs II of Canonsburg, a summa cum laude graduate of Carlow University, has received the College Chemistry Award from the Society for Analytical Chemists of Pittsburgh. The award includes a monetary prize and a framed certificate of accomplishment. In addition, Childs will be recognized through a monetary award presented to the Carlow Library in his honor, along with an engraved nameplate, which will be added to the plaque in the Chemistry Department listing previous SACP winners. Childs majored in chemistry/mathematics major and received the Sister M. Michael Rowland Award for excellence in mathematics. His parents are Christopher Childs and Lisa Huggins.
MacKenzie McElhaney was named to the dean’s list at Slippery Rock University with a 4.0 grade-point average for the 10th consecutive semester. McElhaney has completed her second year of graduate studies in the doctor of physical therapy program. She was a 2016 summa cum laude graduate of Slippery Rock with a bachelor of science in exercise science. McElhaney received the Presidents Award for placing in the top 20 academic students each year. She is a 2012 graduate of McGuffey High School, and her parents are Jim and Sally McElhaney of Washington.
Katie Trapuzzano graduated from Washington & Jefferson College, where she earned a bachelor of arts in business administration with a concentration in entrepreneurship. She was named to the dean’s list in the spring. Trapuzzano is a 2013 graduate of Trinity High School and is co-owner of Haven Design. Her parents are Ben and Shawn Trapuzzano of Washington.
