Clayton Johnson, a 2013 graduate of Canon-McMillan High School, was one of 12 officers recently sworn in as new members of the U.S. Secret Service’s Uniformed Division.

He is assigned to the White House branch. The Secret Service has been protecting the president since 1901. Its core principals are justice, duty, courage, honor and loyalty.

Officers completed training at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center and James J. Rowley Training Center over an eight-month period. Johnson received the “sharpshooter” and “excellence in driving” awards.

Johnson is a son of Jimmy and Tammy Johnson of Canonsburg. He is a 2016 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. During college, Johnson completed an internship with Canonsburg police.

He is pictured with his 89-year-old grandmother, Helen Johnson of Canonsburg, after his swearing-in ceremony.
