Washington Rotary presents service awards
The Rotary Club of Washington recently presented service awards to several members of the community.
Dr. David Welker, orthopedic surgeon practicing at Advanced Orthopedics Group in Washington, was presented the John L.S. Northrop Vocational Service Award. The award recognizes an individual who adheres to and promotes the highest ethical standards in his or her occupation. The award includes a $1,000 grant to be given to the charity of the recipient’s choice.
Grafton Eliason received the Andrew G. Uram International Service Award, which recognizes an individual who has provided humanitarian relief abroad or worked to promote world understanding and peace. Eliason is a professor and coordinator of clinical mental health counseling in the Department of Counselor Education and Services at California University of Pennsylvania, and is also an ordained Presbyterian minister. The award includes a Paul Harris Fellow $1,000 gift to the Rotary Foundation.
Joe Manning, a member of Washington City Council, was presented the Roy R. Gillespie Community Service Award for his volunteer efforts with charitable organizations and causes. The award also includes a Paul Harris Fellow $1,000 gift to the Rotary Foundation. Manning is also a member of the Washington Rotary Club.
