Peters Township Chamber of Commerce Annual Holiday Luncheon will be held Dec. 6 at Valley Brook Country Club, featuring a performance by Peters Township Music Department’s nationally recognized a cappella group. Registration and social time is at 11 a.m. followed by the luncheon and entertainment at noon. Cost is $35 for members and $40 for non-members. Jefferson-Morgan School District is having a “Stuff the Bus” food drive to benefit the Jefferson-Morgan Weekend Backpack Program. Donations will be accepted from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday through Friday at Jefferson-Morgan, and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and Dec. 3 at Giant Eagle in Rices Landing. The Bradford House Museum, 175 South Main St., Washington, will host a Holiday Gift Shoppe from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m on Friday and Saturday. The house will be decorated in 18th-century holiday style. More than a dozen local vendors will offer a variety of items for sale, including fresh floral arrangements, jewelry, cosmetics, hand carved wood ornaments, clothing and accessories, and other unique gift items. The museum gift shop offers Whiskey Rebellion themed items. A Christmas tree, donated by Southern Style on Fifth Avenue, will be raffled.
Kick off the Advent season with a walk through Bethlehem & Advent Open House Saturday at Grace UMC Coal Center, 420 California Drive, Coal Center. The walk and open house will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Carols will follow at 5:15. The event will include crafts, coffee, hot chocolate and baked goods. The Brownson House/Vernon C. Neal Sportsplex will host a holiday vendor sale from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Brownson House T.S. Fitch Gymnasium in the red brick building. Free admission to shoppers and the concession stand will be open. Vendors can purchase a table for $30, or $35 if electric is needed, and donate an auction item.
The Ethnic Craft Club of St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, 201 E. Main Street, Uniontown, will hold its annual Christmas Craft and Bake Sale from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 3 in the upstairs hall. Admission is free. The “Carpathian Cookery,” St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church’s parish cookbook, is available for purchase. Cost is $18 (includes $4 postage and handling fee). West Newton Library will host a children’s Christmas party called “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” at 2 p.m. Dec. 3 in the Le Grande room on South 2nd Street in West Newton. Bring a blanket for the floor. Crafts, activities, hot dogs, chips, drinks and treats as well as a showing of How the Grinch Stole Christmas. LifeSpan announces its eighth annual “Sweet Holiday Wishes” Cookie Donation Campaign. Cookie donations are being accepted for its Meals on Wheels/Home Delivered Meals participants this holiday season. Donate two or three dozen of your favorite holiday cookies at your local LifeSpan Senior Community Center or HDM Kitchen no later than Dec. 15.
