Bateson – 95 years
Marie Lafferty Bateson will celebrate her 95th birthday October 8.
She was born October 8, 1922, on her parents’ farm.
She and her husband, the late George Bateson, were married for more than 50 years.
Mrs. Bateson has two children, Anna Mae (Allen) Cushey and George L. (Martha) Bateson. She also has six grandchildren and seven great- grandchildren. A granddaughter, Katharine, is deceased.
Mrs. Bateson worked on the family farm during World war II. She also worked at Simmons Farm in McMurray for 35 years and at Plant and Flower Warehouse in McMurray for 10 years.
She is the oldest member of Peters Creek United Presbyterian Church.
