A community dinner will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Liberty United Methodist Church, 1330 Banetown Road, Washington. An all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at First Christian Church, 615 E. Beau St., Washington. The menu includes spaghetti with homemade meat sauce, salad, Italian bread, drink and homemade dessert. Cost is $10 for adults and $4 for children ages 5 to 12. Children 4 and younger are free. Takeout will be available.
New Freeport fire hall will host a country music night Saturday. Neon Knights will perform from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and Country Sounds from 8:30 to 10 p.m. Admission is $5.

United Mine Workers of America’s Pensioner Leadership Committee will hold its 10th annual picnic at 11 a.m. Saturday at Ten Mile Creek County Park near Clarksville. All dues-paying active and retired members are invited to attend and bring their families. A picnic lunch will be served. UMMA International President Cecil Roberts will be the keynote speaker, along with union secretary and treasurer Levi Allen.
