Knights to hold youth soccer challenge
The 2017 Knights of Columbus Soccer Challenge for boys and girls 9 to 14 years old will be held at 5:30 p.m. Monday at Klinger Park Soccer Complex, 1000 Meadow Lane, Canonsburg.
There is no fee to compete.
The soccer challenge is sponsored annually, with winners progressing through local, district and state competitions. International champions are announced by the Knights of Columbus international headquarters in New Haven, Conn., based on scores from the state-level competitions.
All contestants on the local level are recognized for their participation. Youngsters are required to furnish proof of age and written parental consent. This year’s event is being held through the cooperation of Knights of Columbus councils 13421 and 3440.
Winners of the council competition will advance to the district competition, which will be held at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 18 at the Klinger Park Soccer Complex.
