A timber harvest program presented by the Southwestern Pennsylvania Woodland Owners will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Old Concord Presbyterian Church in Washington.

Jim Elze, a professional consulting forester, will explain how to plan and implement a successful timber harvest. Enter the church through the back door at the basement level.

As a followup, a harvest site tour of Bob Brown’s Tree Farm in Greene County will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday. If weather cooperates, the harvest should be in its second week.

Elze and Brown will walk participants through the plan and the process. After the tour, there will be hot dogs, baked beans and s’mores over the bonfire. Water will be supplied.

Wear proper shoes and clothing for the weather. Meet at the Greene County Fairgrounds, building 10 parking lot, to carpool at 12:30 p.m. The meeting and tour are free.
