Bus trip to Altoona, Horseshoe Curve set
Peters Township Parks and Recreation Department will take a bus trip, “Boxcar Escapade II,” Oct. 26.
Those who register will board Amtrak for a one-way train ride from Pittsburgh to Altoona to experience Horseshoe Curve. A bus will take travelers to Boyer’s Candy Outlet, the Horseshoe Curve Visitor Center and Benzel’s Pretzel Outlet. Lunch will be held at the Casino Restaurant, followed by a stop at the Railroader’s Memorial Museum.
The trip will begin at 6:15 a.m., and will end about 7 p.m. Fee of $152 per person includes transportation, admissions, meal, taxes and driver gratuity. Register online at www.peterstownship.com or call 724-941-4180. Registration deadline is Monday.
