Rotary to host Zombie walk, run
The Monessen/Rostraver Rotary Club is sponsoring a Zombie 5K Run/Walk Race Oct 17 in Monessen City Park on Grand Boulevard.
Registration begins at 7:30 a.m., and the run/walk starts at 9.
Those who register before Sept. 29 will receive a Zombie 5K T-shirt. Participants can register as a runner/walker or as a Zombie. Zombies will be hidden throughout the race to surprise runners and walkers as they pass. Makeup will be included in the registration. Zombies are limited to the first 25 people.
All other participants can get minimal zombie makeup work done from students at Douglas Education Center at a cost between $5 and $10.
Registration is $25 per person. Registration also will be accepted the day of the event, but those who register on site will not receive a T-shirt. Students and children younger than 14 can register in advance at a discounted rate of $15 with a valid student ID at Valley 1st Community FCU in Monessen. Students and children must be registered by Sept. 29 to guarantee a T-shirt.
