State Rep. Bud Cook, R-49th District, will host a concealed carry-hunting safety seminar at 6 p.m. Sept. 28 at the Monongahela Volunteer Fire Department, 451 W. Main St. The free seminar will provide updates on state hunting and trespassing laws, concealed carry requirements and other potential legislation that could impact hunters and firearms owners. Tom Fazi and Richard Joyce of the Pennsylvania Game Commission and Kim Stolfer of Firearms Owners Against Crime also will speak. Laboratory Presbyterian Church will hold a Spud Night fundraiser at 5 p.m. Sept. 30 in fellowship hall. Proceeds will benefit the ministry of Pine Springs Camp. The menu will consist of baked potatoes with all the fixings, salads and desserts. There will be a gift basket raffle and a gift card tree raffle.
