Meadows helps spark rise in table games revenue statewide
Pennsylvania casinos posted an 11.24 percent gain in gross table games revenue in February, sparked by a strong month at The Meadows and the other two casinos in Southwestern Pennsylvania.
The state Gaming Control Board released figures showing the North Strabane Township gaming site had $3,270,551 in February revenue, a 23.15 percent jump from $2,655,641 in February 2017. That was the fourth highest increase among the commonwealth’s 12 casinos.
Valley Forge Casino Resort experienced the biggest increase, 55.1 percent ($2.23 million to $3.46 million. Rivers Casino, on Pittsburgh’s North Shore, had the second largest bump, 37.98 percent ($4.38 million to $6.04 million), and SugarHouse Casino followed with a 30.75 percent hike ($7.64 million to $10 million).
Lady Luck Casino Nemacolin, in Fayette County, had the fourth-biggest increase, 20.48 percent, from $302,076 in February 2017 to $363,941.
Tables game play generated $73,757,805 in revenue last month, up from $66,303,289 in February 2017.
A total of $11,863,321 in tax revenue was collected. An average of 1,269 tables were in operation daily statewide.
Eight of the casinos posted year-over-year gains.
