Grace Kerr, daughter of Lance and Angie Kerr of Carmichaels, has been named the April Girl of the Month by the Carmichaels Area Women’s Civic Club. A senior at Carmichaels Area Junior-Senior High School, she is a member of the National Honor Society, chemistry club, school newspaper, volleyball team and the Student Standing Committee. She is also a cheerleader. Kerr plans to attend West Virginia University, where she will major in biomedical engineering.
The John Corbly Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution presented DAR Good Citizens Awards to five Greene County high school seniors last month at a luncheon at the Lardin House Inn, Masontown. Receiving awards were:
Christal Renee Ryczek, daughter of Michelle Ryczek of Greensboro, Mapletown High School. She is a cheerleader, vice president of the National Honor Society, president of the Relay for Life team and a member of SADD and FBLA.
Madison Ann Brooks, daughter of Carl and Valerie Brooks of Waynesburg, Waynesburg Central High School. She is a member of the National Honor Society; Varsity, Spanish and Art clubs; Youth Alive; Future is Mine and Student Council. She is senior class vice president and has been on high school and all county track and field clubs for three years.
Joseph Conrad Reed, son of Bob and Karen Reed of Waynesburg, West Greene High School. He is president of the National Honor Society, Engineering Club, Peer Court, Quiz Bowl member and Ski Club. He is a three-year letterman in basketball and baseball.
Jacob Daniel Hair, son of John and Patty Hair of Carmichaels, Carmichaels Area Senior High School. He is president of the National Honor Society, treasurer of the senior class, member of the Envirothon Team, Peer Court, Chemistry Club, SADD, Junior-Senior Standing Committee, Debate Team, Penn State 4.0 Club and chorus. He also plays baseball and basketball.
Cameron J. Cernuska, son of Steve and Juliann Cernuska of Jefferson, Jefferson-Morgan High School. He is a member of the National Honor Society, Academic League, Peer Jury, Debate Team and Penn State 4.0 Club. He lettered in varsity golf and rifle team and is a member of the Greene County Rifle Team.
