California United Women in Faith will host a video presentation and community discussion featuring Carolyn Maull McKinstry, author and survivor of the 1963 Birmingham church bombing, on Tuesday, Feb. 10, at 11 a.m. The presentation will be held in the social hall at California United Methodist Church, 227 Third St., California. The public is welcome.
The Monongahela Veterans Council will meet at VFW 1409 – Black Diamond, 793 E. Main St., Monongahela on Friday, Feb. 13 at 7 p.m. Upcoming events and activities scheduled for this year will be discussed. All interested parties are welcome to attend.
Reservations for pavilions at Amwell Township Park will be accepted from township residents, in person, between 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 16, at the township building, 885 Amity Ridge Road, Amity. Nominations for the 2026 Chartiers-Houston Hall of Honor will be accepted through May 1 on the Chartiers-Houston district website and social media pages. Nominees must be at least 30 years old and one of the following: a graduate of the Chartiers-Houston School District or Chartiers-Township High School; a former Chartiers-Houston employee, faculty member, coach or school board member; or a resident of Houston Borough or Chartiers Township. Nominating categories include academics, athletics, the arts, valor/citizenship, and contributions to business and field of work. Individuals who were nominated last year but were not inducted can be nominated again.
Good Samaritan Hospice will host Good Mourning Devotional, a free weekly virtual grief support group, on Thursdays at 7 a.m. through Jan. 14, 2027. Each session will include a brief devotional, opportunities for sharing, and support. Participants are welcome throughout the year, and registration is required to obtain the Zoom link.
