State police searching for Eighty Four man charged with child rape
Authorities are searching for an Eighty Four area man accused of raping a child.
State police announced Friday they are searching for 42-year-old Matthew Gabriel Barth in connection with numerous felony charges filed last year.
He is described as being 6-foot-1 and 200 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. Police said his last known address is 475 Lively Road in Somerset Township, although he’s also known to visit Washington, Bentleyville, Brownsville, Belle Vernon, Donora and Pittsburgh.
Barth is facing felony charges of rape of a child, sexual assault, statutory sexual assault, involuntary sexual deviate intercourse with a child, indecent assault of a child, indecent assault of a child under 13 and corruption of minors, along with one misdemeanor count of indecent exposure.
No details were released about the case, but online court records indicate that the accusations date back to October 2020. The charges were filed at District Judge Joshua Kanalis’ office in March 2025.
