Riverfest will happen in California Borough this weekend

1 min read

Music, food and the opportunity to meet past and present members of the Pittsburgh Penguins are all on the agenda for Riverfest in California Borough this weekend.

Phil Bourque, who played for the Penguins in the 1980s and 1990s, and Justin Brazeau, who is the team’s current forward, will be at Riverfest at 1 p.m. Saturday. A firemen’s parade will precede the appearance by Bourque and Brazeau, and live music will be part of the rest of the day. Fireworks are planned in the evening.

A community worship service is set for Sunday at 11 a.m., and it will be followed by a car show from noon to 4 p.m. The Mon Valley Performing Arts Academy, the California Community Choir and others will be providing live music throughout the afternoon.

A variety of vendors will also be on hand for Riverfest, which will be happening along Wood Street.
