He’s been called “Mr. Las Vegas,” but Wayne Newton will be stepping away from Sin City for a concert at the Hollywood Casino at the Meadows in North Strabane Saturday at 7 p.m.
The highest-grossing entertainer in Las Vegas history, the 84-year-old Newton has headlined an estimated 25,000 shows there, serenading concertgoers with such hits as “Danke Schoen,” “Red Roses for a Blue Lady” and “Summer Wind.” Newton has also nurtured an acting career over the years, going back to the early 1960s when he appeared on such series as “Bonanza” and “The Lucy Show.”
