Opening lineup announced for new Pittsburgh concert venue

Sting will be performing at the new Pittsburgh concert venue Citizens Live at Wylie in November.

Live Nation has announced the opening lineup for Citizens Live at Wylie, a new concert venue opening in Pittsburgh’s Lower Hill District this fall.

The first concert will be hometown rapper Wiz Khalifa on Oct. 2. The rest of the lineup will feature artists and performers across many genres, including rock, pop. hip-hop and comedy. Some of the performers, such as GloRilla, Matt Matthews and Freya Skye, have never headlined a show in Pittsburgh before.

The initial lineup includes:

-Two Door Cinema Club, Oct. 6

-Freya Skye, Oct. 7

-Matt Matthews, Oct. 8

-Chelsea Handler, Oct. 9

-Boyz II Men, Oct. 16

-Tedeschi Trucks Band, Oct. 20

-The Living Tombstone, Oct. 27

-Aries Spears, Oct. 31

-GloRilla, Nov. 2

-Sting, Nov. 6

-Wyatt Flores, Nov. 15

-Stephen Wilson Jr., Dec. 2

-Sabaton, Dec. 3

-Slappers N Bangers vs. Union, Jan. 16

Citizens Live at the Wylie will have a capacity of 4,000 and will be adjacent to PPG Paints Arena. It will have a general admission floor. Its design celebrates the cultural legacy of the Hill District with installations featuring imagery from the Carnegie Museum of Art’s Charles “Teenie” Harris archive of photographs, honoring the neighborhood’s historic influence on Pittsburgh’s music scene.
