Morgantown open house will celebrate National Model Railroad Month
The Mon Valley Railroad Historical Society will be celebrating National Model Railroad Month with an open house Saturday and Sunday at the Mountaineer Mall in Morgantown, W.Va.
The Mon Valley Railroad Historical Society is one of many groups that are holding open houses, clinics, and workshops this month to increase the public’s awareness of model railroading.
The Mon Valley Railroad Historical Society began in Morgantown 38 years ago, and the group is building the largest HO scale model railroad in North Central West Virginia. It will depict West Virginia during the 1970s.
Open house hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday. The exhibit is free. The Mon Valley Railroad Historical Society’s website is MVRRHS.org, and its Facebook page can be found at facebook.com/MVRRHS.
