Meadows lineup features Weird Al, Cosby
The Meadows Racetrack & Casino’s 2013 outdoor concert series will be anchored by two award-winning comedians, “Weird Al” Yankovic and Bill Cosby, and will be part of the racetrack’s 50th anniversary celebration.
This year’s concerts also include the O’Jays, who will appear June 29 with a surprise guest to be announced April 29. As one of America’s top soulful sounds group, the O’Jays have had 24 top 10 records and 59 songs on the charts.
In an attempt to cover all genres, The Meadows also will welcome country star Ronnie Dunn Aug. 3 as part of the Mylan Classic Charity Concert. Dunn was part of the most successful duos in country music history, Brooks & Dunn, for more than 20 years.
The concert series includes:
• June 1 – Yankovic’s Alpocalypse Tour. Yankovic has three Grammy Awards, 14 gold records, eight platinum records and one double-platinum record. Tickets went on sale April 6.
• June 29 – 50th anniversary concert with the O’Jays and fireworks. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. May 4.
• Aug. 3 – Dunn, a two-time BMI Country Songwriter of the Year who also has received 23 BMI Million Airplay Awards. Proceeds from the concert will benefit local charities through the Mylan Classic. • Aug. 17 – Cosby, a nine-time Grammy Award and four-time Emmy winner. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. June 15.
