Siegel to perform at Olin Fine Arts
Washington & Jefferson College’s Arts Series season will end Thursday, with Jeffrey Siegel performing “Keyboard Conversations” at 7:30 p.m. in the Olin Fine Arts Center.
Recently featured on PBS, “Keyboard Conversations” is a concert-plus-commentary in which Siegel speaks to the audience about the music before performing each work in its entirety. He presents an informal introduction to the vast repertoire of the piano and to classical music in general. In this performance, Siegel will present “Gershwin and Friends!” The music will include “Rhapsody in Blue,” Aaron Copland’s “Cat and Mouse,” Leonard Bernstein’s “Anniversaries” and Scott Joplin’s “Wall Street Rag.”
Siegel will host a master class/workshop at 11 a.m. in the Olin theater. The workshop is free.
Tickets are $12 for general admission; $10 for senior citizens, W&J alumni and non-W&J students; and $7 for children 12 years and younger. For more information, call the box office at 724-223-OLIN.
