Pleasant Valley Elementary Elementary School recently held its annual talent show to benefit American Cancer Society. The evening featured student performances and staff performances. Performers sang, danced, played the piano, told jokes and even showed off their basketball and pogo-stick skills. Student acts are voted on by cash donations placed in boxes created by the students for their act. More than $10,500 was raised. In addition, donations to the Washington County Food Bank also were accepted, and more than 800 pounds of food was collected. Among the groups that performed were Phantastic Pharaohs, composed of Adam Bradley, Francesca Cain, Kayla Calvert, Amelia D’Addieco, Zack Daniel, Andrew Daube, Rachel Esselstyn, Adam Faina, Milica Hutnik, Zachary Hymson, Laney Kerner, Sophie Knight, Natalie Lewis, Eddie Pasquale, Claire Rock, Brooklyn Scarff, Anna Shchelchkov, Maddie Smith, Chase Stauffer, Evan Thomas and Caitie Williams.
