Brownsville festival Saturday

Brownsville Community Festival & Ducky Race will be held Saturday.

This year’s event also will feature a hot dog eating contest. Five competitors will have five minutes to see who can down the most hot dogs from Fiddles restaurant. The contest will be held at 4:45 p.m on the main stage downtown. Participants will be selected on a first-come basis. There is a $10 entry fee. The winner gets $50 and a Brownsville T-shirt. The festival gets underw ay at 9 a.m. with the 18th annual Falcon 5K at Brownsville Area High School. The fundraiser is sponsored by Brownsville Cross Country Boosters. Registration begins at 8 a.m. Awards will be presented to the top three male and female runners and walkers in 12 age groups.

Other highlights include the third annual Fiddles’ Classic Car Show from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m, which will be staged beside the restaurant, and BARC’s fifth annual Ducky Race at 4 p.m. at Brownsville Riverside Wharf.
