Bentworth Seed Lending Library will meet at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 6. The group will view the video “Genetic Roulette – Genetically Modified Food” and their effect on health.

Fine Art Series will be held Aug. 21 and 28 and Sept. 4. Classes will be taught by Kama Lee, who is teaching drawing and sketch for Community College of Allegheny College’s noncredit programs. Students will be introduced to various mediums, such as ink, pencil and acrylic. They will work on their own art projects. A prepaid, nonrefundable deposit is $40 and includes all three sessions. Students will hunt for caches in the city of Washington by following clues, decoding instructions and using a GPS. Library Night at the Washington Wild Things will be held at 7:05 p.m. Aug. 21 at Consol Energy Park. The Wild Things will play the Gateway Grizzlies. Those who visit the library’s table will be entered into a drawing for a summer reading prize basket. All children and teens who achieved their reading goal will receive a free reserved ticket to the game. Additional reserved tickets are $7. Tickets are based on availability, and all orders must be submitted to the library by Aug. 7. Groundbreaking Reads Book Club will meet at 11:30 a.m. Aug. 22. “The Book Thief” by Markus Zusak will be discussed. Bring a bag lunch; snacks and drinks will be provided. Registration is required. CitiBooks, a used books bookstore in the lower level of the library, is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursdays; and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays. All proceeds benefit the library.
