Eighty students at Pleasant Valley Elementary School in the Peters Township School District were recognized recently for their original stories.

Students in kindergarten through third grade had the opportunity to write and illustrate their own books for their classmates to read.

The books were labeled and are available for other students to check out of the library.

Students at each grade level who were recognized for their outstanding efforts and creativity were:

Kindergarten – Michael Garin, Maura McCabe, Ashlyn Morgan, Emma Kail and Brooke Koutsogiani.

First grade – Cailee Morgan, A.J. Krugh and Grace Kail.

Second grade – Grace Trax, Christina Sefer and Bailey Koutsogiani.

Third grade – Alec Colombari, Madison Smith, Casey Breier, Claire Rock and co-authors Sydney Perich and Lindsey Ketelaar.
