A flea market will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 1 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 775 N. Main St. (rear entrance), Washington.
The 63rd annual country fair at St. Michael’s of the Valley, Route 381, Rector, begins at 9 a.m. June 1. Musical entertainment will be provided by One Accord. There will be a rummage, white elephant and used book sale. Smokehouse grill, deli and baked goods, mushroom sandwiches and crepes will be available and there will be pony rides, face painting and children’s games. For more information, call 724-238-9411.
Managing Your Diabetes will be held from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. June 4-6 in the Education Conference Center at Monongahela Valley Hospital. The program will be repeated from 6 to 9 p.m. June 18-20 in the Education Conference Center at Monongahela Valley Hospital. Completion of the three-day Diabetes Self-Management Training is required. Register at least one week in advance for either class by calling the Center for Diabetes at 724-258-1483.
Advanced Carbohydrate Counting will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. June 12 in the Education Conference Center at Monongahela Valley Hospital. This is a diabetes self-management class that focuses on counting carbohydrate intake. Topics range from how to measure the upward drive each meal has on blood sugar to information on the glycemic index. Completion of the three-day Diabetes Self-Management Training is required. Innovations in Knee Replacements will be presented by Dr. Scott Baron at 6 p.m. June 25 in the Education Conference Center at Monongahela Valley Hospital as part of the hospital’s Innovations in Medicine series. Baron will repeat the presentation at 6 p.m. July 29 at the HealthPLEX, Willow Room. To register for either program, call 724-258-1333.
