HARRISBURG – Twin Brook Farm, owned by the Marchezak and McMurray families of Bentleyville, recently received the Charles Itle Exhibition and Display Award at the 50th annual All-American Dairy Show at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex and Expo Center.

“How we present our cattle represents us as individual exhibitors, our farm and an industry in front of a national audience,” said Patty McMurray.

Twin Brook has exhibited at the show since it began in 1964.

“Media who have covered the show and spoken with us have noticed our pack and that we care for our animals, giving our farm a positive public image,” McMurray said. “We’re glad to help get the right message out about dairy: that your milk comes from a good place.”

The herdsmanship awards recognize those who best promote the family business. Beyond the cleanliness and attractiveness of the display, judges evaluate the presentation of and proper identification of the farm’s animals. As important in judging is the exhibitors’ spirit of cooperation and friendliness toward other exhibitors.

Twin Brook Farm received an embroidered jacket, the second-place farm received a hand-painted lamp and third through fifth places received hand-painted pie dishes. All five farms received cash prizes and have the opportunity to request their stall space for next year’s show. Prizes were sponsored by the Pennsylvania Dairymen’s Association.

The show featured 23 shows in six days, the nation’s only all-dairy antiques show, nearly 3,000 animals and 2,000 exhibitors from across the country.
