‘Miracle on 34th’ auditions scheduled
California University of Pennsylvania’s Department of Theatre and Dance, along with Mon Valley Dance Council, will audition performers for roles in Cal U.’s holiday production of “Miracle on 34th Street” Sept. 6 in Steele Hall.
Male and female performers of all ages and abilities will be considered for acting, singing and dancing roles. Participants should dress appropriately, bring their own shoes and report to the lobby at Blaney Theatre30 minutes before their scheduled audition times.
Those who plan to audition should prepare a selection from musical theater between 16 and 32 bars in length and arrive ready to dance.
Performers must bring sheet music; no a cappella singing or recorded accompaniment is permitted. Auditions are scheduled as follows:
• Dancers only, age 6 to adult, 10 a.m. to noon.
• Role of Susan, 10 a.m. to noon. Performers may be asked to attend a 4 p.m. callback.
• Kris Kringle, 11 a.m. to noon. Performers may be asked to attend a 4 p.m. callback.
• Children’s ensemble, 5- to 12-year-olds, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Children may be asked to attend a 4 p.m. callback.
• Teen and adult ensemble, 2 to 4 p.m.
