Eagles tribute postponed

1 min read

NEW YORK (AP) – The Eagles are postponing their Kennedy Center tribute because of co-founder Glenn Frey’s health issues.

The Washington-based Center announced Wednesday that the Eagles will not participate in a Dec. 6 ceremony that will also honor Carole King and George Lucas among others.

Frey, who turns 67 today, has long suffered from intestinal problems, which he has blamed on his drug use during the band’s early years, and is expected to undergo surgery. Frey sang lead on the Eagles’ first hit, “Take It Easy.”
