Washington Symphony Orchestra to ‘Ho Ho Ho’
Washington Symphony Orchestra will hold its annual “Ho Ho Ho with the WSO” concerts at 8 p.m. Dec. 5 and 3 p.m. Dec. 6 at Trinity High School.
Thirty minutes minutes before each concert, Washington Jazz Orchestra will play a set featuring jazzy versions of holiday favorites. Washington Jazz Orchestra will join WSO for a selection later in the main concert.
The Washington County All-Star Choir will join the audience in song, along with the Cal U. Singers and Washington Festival Chorale. Students from Beth-Center, Charleroi, Chartiers-Houston, McGuffey, Trinity and Washington will perform in the choir.
“We have a good mix of traditional music and popular favorites,” said music director Yugo Ikach in a release. “We’ll be shaking things up a little with a Trans Siberian Orchestra piece and a Christmas song by local composer Dominic Carolla.”
Comic book creator George Broderick Jr. will be in the lobby both days, displaying books from his “Cool Yule” series and postcards featuring his art.
Tickets start at $17 and can be purchased at www.washsym.org or by calling 1-888-71-TICKETS. Tickets also can be purchased at Citizens Library, Peters Township Public Library and the WSO office, 11 S. College St. in Washington. Children 12 and under will be admitted free to the Sunday matinee concert, if accompanied by a paying adult.
