The National Duncan Glass Society will celebrate the 41st anniversary of its founding during the annual meeting and banquet July 22 at the George Washington Hotel in downtown Washington.

And the celebration will continue with the annual Antique and Glass Show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 23 and 24 at the Washington County Fairgrounds.

The theme this year is “Dining with Duncan,” and will feature a display of various place settings and table settings using Duncan glass. The display will trace the changing fashions in table settings from the Victorian period through the closing of the factory in 1955.

Of special note are the patterns Duncan produced in a complete service of glass to include the dinner plates. Early American Sandwich, Teardrop, Puritan and Spiral Flutes are among the examples. Also of interest are the matching patterns Duncan produced to coordinate with china and silverware.

The show will feature dealers from seven states with a wide variety of glass from different periods and manufacturers, general antiques and collectibles. Seven dealers will feature extensive displays of Early American Pattern Glass.

Included with the show admission are glass seminars and glass identifcation. For more information, call 724-678-6627.
