Charleroi Area High School to recognize 118 graduates Friday

Charleroi Area High School is set to graduate 118 seniors at 7 p.m. Friday at Myron Pottios Stadium.

Erik Miller is the valedictorian, and Jessica Day is the salutatorian. Johnna Fagan is class president.

Miller, a son of Pam and Paul Miller of North Charleroi, is a member of the National Honor Society and the trumpet section leader in the marching band. Miller received the Challenge Program Award for Academic Excellence, was the Rotary Club’s November Student of the Month and is president of the Bible Club. He has participated in Stormfront Youth Ministries and the Assemblies of God National Fine Arts Festival.

Miller plans to attend the University of Valley Forge to pursue a degree in music production.

Day, a daughter of Tim and Tracy Day of Charleroi, is a member of the National Honor Society and captain of the varsity soccer and track teams.

She received the Centennial Chevrolet Scholar Athlete award, the 2016 and 2017 Athena Award, the Lions Club Scholarship and the Deanna Martarella Scholarship.

Day has been a member of the History Club, SADD, Executive Committee and the Relay for Life Committee.

She plans to attend Robert Morris University to pursue a degree in nursing
