Army Reserve Pfc. Poe P. Kyaw has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla. Kyaw is a 2011 graduate of Peters Township High School, and she is a daughter of Shwe Kyaw of Canonsburg.

Air Force Airman Christopher M. Marx graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate degree in applied science through the Community College of the Air Force. Marx is a 2005 graduate of Waynesburg Central High School, and his mother is Gretchen Marx-Good of Waynesburg.
