Army Pvt. Todd P. Gerard-Mathews has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. He is a 2011 graduate of Ringgold High School, and his parents are David Mathews of Monongahela and Kelci Brooks of Columbiaville, Mich.

Air Force Airman Raymond A. Rodriguez graduated with honors from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas. Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate degree in applied science through the Community College of the Air Force. He is a 2012 graduate of Washington High School, and his mother is Stacey Rodriguez of Washington.
