Cook – 50 years
Douglas and Gladys Cook of Washington celebrated their golden wedding anniversary with a party for family and close friends given by their children at South Strabane Community Park.
Mr. and Mrs. Cook were married August 28, 1964, in Cumberland, Md.
Their children are Janet (Jay) McGuier of Avella, Doedy Markiewicz of Richmond, Va., and Douglas (Amy) Cook and Winston Cook, both of Washington.
Their grandchildren are Moriah McGuier, Alexandria and Micalister Markiewicz and Josh Bradford.
Mr. Cook retired from Caterpillar/Bucyrus, where he was a fitter for 29 years. He enjoys hunting and fishing.
Mrs. Cook is a domestic engineer. She previously worked at the George Washington Hotel and Giant Eagle. She enjoys gardening, crocheting and reading.
Both enjoy spending time with their children, grandchildren and close friends.
