Shumaker – 50 years
Tom and Janet Shumaker of Clarksville will celebrate their golden wedding anniversary with an open house for family and friends from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday at the American Legion in Jefferson.
Mr. and Mrs. Shumaker were married October 31, 1964, in Cumberland, Md., by the Rev. C.H. Wakeman.
She is a daughter of the late Harry and Ruth Folwell of Jefferson. He is a son of the late Robert “Bud” and Ada Shumaker of Clarksville.
The couple have two children, Kelly and Brian, both of Clarksville.
They are the proud grandparents of three grandchildren, Kadie, Joshua and Nicholas.
Mr. Shumaker retired in 2006 as a state mine inspector supervisor. For the last eight years, he operated Coal Miners Training, training aspiring miners. Mrs. Shumaker is a retired homemaker. For several years, she sang in the trio, “Over-The-Hill Angels.”
