Army Pvt. Shawn A. Kiger-Darnhart has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. Kiger-Darnhart is a 2014 graduate of Morgantown High School, Morgantown, W.Va., and he is a son of Jodie Conklin of Waynesburg.
Air Force Airman Jacob M. McPeek graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas. Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate degree in applied science through the Community College of the Air Force. McPeek is a 2013 graduate of Peters Township High School, and his father is Richard M. McPeek of McMurray.
Air Force Airman Alaina A. Wade graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas. Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate degree in applied science through the Community College of the Air Force. Wade is a 2013 graduate of Trinity High School, and her parents are Robert and Melissa Wade of Washington.
Airman E2 Donald Adam Zimak, son of Donald and Doreen Zimak of McDonald, graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, Lackland, Texas, where he was assigned to the 320th Training Squadron, Flight 080. While at basic training, Zimak was awarded a marksman ribbon and achieved the highest Air Force Physical Fitness level of “Warhawk.” He also was awarded the Top Physical Fitness Award in the squadron of 441 members, receiving a certificate and plaque for his achievement. Zimak, who is pursuing a career as a helicopter and airplane mechanic, has been assigned to Shepard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, Texas, where he will receive his technical training. He is a graduate of Trinity High School.
