Stopka – 45 years
Joe and Elaine Stopka of Amity celebrated their 45-year wedding anniversary with a surprise dinner and party held by their children at the home of their daughter and son-in-law, Beckie and Todd Kaczmark.
Mr. and Mrs. Stopka were married October 24, 1970, in North Buffalo Presbyterian Church, Washington, with the Rev. John Mark Scott officiating.
Their children are Tammie (Jonathan) Johnson of Waynesburg, Michael (Laura) Stopka of Amity and Beckie (Todd) Kaczmark of Washington.
Their grandchildren are Dustin and Dylan Cowell, Olivia and Addonae Johnson, Dominic, Donovin and Delanie Stopka and Ethan and Nora Kaczmark.
Both were employed by RCA Corp., Meadow Lands. Mr. Stopka retired from Industrial Gasket and Shim. He is a U.S. Air Force veteran and member of Steele-Lillie American Legion. Mrs. Stopka retired from Intermediate Unit 1. She is a member of North Ten Mile Baptist Church, where she teaches childrens Sunday school, sings in the choir and serves on several committees.
