Blackhurst – 55 years
Gary and Carolyn Blackhurst of Washington will celebrate their 55th wedding anniversary with a family dinner.
Mr. and Mrs. Blackhurst were married June 4, 1961, in Allison Avenue Baptist Church, with the Rev. Arthur Charsky officiating.
Their children are Jeffrey (Sue) Blackhurst of North Strabane, Jennifer (Matthew) Shields of Venice, Fla., Jill (Robert Jr.) Throckmorton of Peters Township and the late Jonathan Blackhurst.
Their grandchildren are Jonathan and Hilary Blackhurst, Braden and Dane Carl, Elisabeth, Parker and Carson Throckmorton and the late Jocelyn Blackhurst Carl and Jocelyn Elizabeth Carl.
Mr. Blackhurst retired from Cooper Power Systems, formerly McGraw Edison, and was a caregiver to his grandchildren when they were young. He enjoys going to the annual McGraw Edison testers picnic, is an avid music listener and loves learning about the latest technology.
Mrs. Blackhurst is a retired medical office manager and active member of Fairhill Manor Christian Church. She enjoys cheering for the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers and supporting her grandchildren’s activities.
