Clarksville Lions name student of the month
The Clarksville Lions Club has selected Madison Clayton as its student of the month for November.
Clayton, daughter of Jason and Julie Clayton of Waynesburg, is a senior at Jefferson-Morgan High School, where she maintains a 3.87 grade point average.
Clayton is a member of student council, National Honor Society and Leo Club. She participates in Big Brothers Big Sisters and SADD.
As a member of the 2017 WPIAL Championship Waynesburg soccer team, Clayton was recognized as the second highest scorer in WPIAL history. She holds the record for most goals in one season, 57, as well as most goals in career, 142, at Waynesburg.
As a two-season captain for the team, Clayton is a four-time all-section player and a three-time all-WPIAL athlete.
In January, Clayton will attend the University of Pittsburgh where she will study sports medicine.
