The Washington Symphony Orchestra will deck Trinity’s halls with holiday spirit with the “Ho Ho Ho with the WSO” concert.

The much-anticipated annual holiday performance will take place at 8 p.m. Dec. 2 and 3 p.m. Dec. 3 at Trinity High School, Washington.

The Washington County All-Star Choir, along with the California University Choir and the Burgettstown Area School District, will join the WSO for choruses from Handel’s “Messiah” and “A Musicological Journey Through Twelve Days of Christmas.”

Singers from Bethlehem Center, Burgettstown, Chartiers-Houston, Fort Cherry, McGuffey, and Trinity high schools are part of the All-Star Choir.

Local dance troupes will take the stage to perform selected dances from Tchaikovsky’s “Nutcracker, Suite No. 1.” Schools participating include Evolving Artists Dance Studio, Moschetta’s Performing Arts Center and Sandra Kay Mesler Dance Studio.

Leroy Anderson’s “A Christmas Festival,” David Rose’s “Holiday for Strings,” and Trans-Siberian Orchestra’s “Dreams of Fireflies” will also be played as part of the program.

Students in grades K through 6 can enter the WSO’s ornament contest. All entries will be displayed on a tree in the lobby and two winners will be selected, one by a panel of judges and the other by popular vote on the WSO Facebook page. Each winner will receive a gift card. Official entry forms are available at www.washsym.org.

Tickets start at $17 and can be purchased at www.washsym.org, by calling 1-888-71-TICKETS, or at the following locations: Citizens Library, Peters Township Public Library and the WSO office on East Wheeling Street, Washington. WSO office sales are by appointment only. Call 724-223-9796 and leave a message.
