Mack Frantz, West Virginia University Ph.D. candidate, will give a presentation at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in Room 106 of Washington & Jefferson College’s Dieter-Porter Hall. Frantz will give a talk on the response of the Louisiana waterthrush and their prey to shale gas development.

Washington County Department of Parks & Recreation will hold Flight of the Timberdoodle Tuesday at Cross Creek County Park to observe the American Woodcock. Dress for moderate hiking and the weather. Peters Township Parks & Recreation will hold Tween Night from 6 to 8 p.m. April 13 at the Community Recreation Center, 700 Meredith Drive, Venetia. The chaperoned event for tweens 9-12 years of age will include games, crafts and snacks. Cost is $5 for members and $8 for non-members. Peters Township Recreation Department will offer one-day bus trips June 7 to Hale Farm & Village and Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens in Akron, Ohio. The South Fayette Little Green Machine Alumni Band is seeking members willing to march in the 2018 Bridgeville Memorial Day Parade. Last year, around 35 musicians and majorette alumni from various graduation years gathered and performed in the parade. There are two to three rehearsals in May.
