The Donora Historical Society will hold its eighth annual spring Cement City Home and Walking Tours at 1 p.m. April 21 and 22. This year marks the 101st year for the Donora’s National Historic District, which was complete in 1917.

The tour will start at the Smog Museum with an in-depth photo, blueprint and artifact presentation, offering a firsthand look of how continuously poured concrete houses were made more than 100 years ago.

The tour will proceed with a drive up to Donora’s first planned housing community for the walking tour portion, and conclude by touring the interior of at least two homes where rooms are restored to the period.

Participants should allow at least 2.5 hours for the entire presentation and tour. Space is limited. The cost is $13 per person and RSVPs are required. Choose a date and RSVP by phone message to 724-823-0364 or email at DonoraHistoricalSociety@gmail.com.

Visit www.donorahistoricalsociety.org  and visit the “Cement City” and “Dreisbach Photos” tabs for detailed information. The Donora Historical Society and Smog Museum are located at 595 McKean Avenue, at the intersection of Sixth and McKean.
