Mon Valley Hospital to host two events
Bariatric surgery
Hiram Gonzalez, M.D., a surgeon at Monongahela Valley Hospital, will discuss MVH’s Weight Control and Wellness Program, including bariatric surgery, during a free education session at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the hospital’s Anthony M. Lombardi Education Conference Center. Dr. Gonzalez will explain the three types of bariatric surgery MVH offers. The surgery is a weight reduction option for people struggling to lose 100 pounds or more. Parking is free for the session and includes light refreshments. Athletic concussions
Shane Hennessy, D.O., the newest member of The Orthopedic Group, will host a free talk about athletic concussions at 6 p.m. Aug. 22 in the Anthony M. Lombardi Education Conference Center of Monongahela Valley Hospital. Dr. Hennessy will discuss the signs and symptoms of athletic concussions and well as treatment options.
