A chicken and biscuit dinner will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Claysville Christian Church. Dinner includes creamed chicken over biscuit, mashed potatoes, green beans, coleslaw, dessert and beverage. A free will offering will be received. Takeout will be available.
Family Festivals Association will hold a Pennsylvania Arts and Crafts Labor Day Festival from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 31, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sept. 1 and 2 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 3 at the Westmoreland Fairgrounds, 123 Blue Ribbon Lane, Greensburg. More than 220 booths are expected with exhibitors displaying jewelry, paintings, soaps and lotions, folk art, floral arrangements and more. There will be entertainment and children’s activities. Wheeling Academy of Law and Science Foundation will offer the second Reuther-Pollack Labor History Symposium Sept. 1 at the First State Capitol at 1413 Eoff St., Wheeling, W.Va. The symposium will include presentations from Fordham history professor Steven Stoll, Appalachian historian Benjamin Bankhurst, Boston College professor of history Kevin Kenny, New York Times senior editor Mark Bulik, and United Auto Worker archivist Gavin Strassel.
