WPHO, Humana sign Medicare network agreement
Washington Physician Hospital Organization and Humana Inc. forged an agreement allowing in-network access for Humana Medicare Advantage members with WPHO providers and Washington Health System facilities.
Terms of the agreement were not available.
Those covered by Humana Medicare Advantage Health Maintenance Organization, Preferred Provider Organization and Private Fee-for-Service plans would have in-network access to Washington Health System facilities and WPHO’s network of 275-plus community-based providers.
WHS has facilities in Washington, Greene and Allegheny counties, including Washington Hospital and WHS-Greene. The WPHO network includes practices owned by WHS.
“We’re delighted to reach this agreement with Humana, a national leader in health and well-being,” Charles Vargo, executive director of WPHO, said in a statement. “Our organizations have a mutual commitment to patient wellness, and we look forward to a successful, long-term relationship in the years to come as we work together toward our shared goals.”
Humana regional president Eric Bohannon said in a statement: “Humana is pleased to work with Washington Physician Hospital Organization to enhance access to quality health care for our Medicare Advantage members in Southwest Pennsylvania.”
