Art Blast on the Mon
Making Hillbilly Spin Art is just one of the “made it myself” moments to be had at the 13th annual Art Blast on the Mon from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at the Ice Plant in Greensboro. The Blast brings together regional food, wine, artists and crafters for fun, learning and food.
Interactive demonstrations by art pros give kids and adults a chance to try their hand at weaving, spinning, mosaics, clay work, jewelry making, drawing, painting and more. There is also an exhibit of work by local students and every school district that participates receives a cash award.
This year’s entertainment starts at 10 a.m. and continues throughout the day, with the Vibrations, Eighteen Wheels and a Crowbar and Blended Reality. Save-a-Horse is back with pony rides and paddlers are welcome to bring their kayaks and canoes and enjoy the Monongahela River.
Art Blast is sponsored by Nathanael Greene CDC and is free to the public due to the support of community sponsors, including the Fund for Arts and Culture, the Nancy Davis Fund of the Community Foundation of Greene County and Greene County Tourism.
