West Greene Area Lions Club has named its Outstanding Students – Joey Reed, Drew Wise and Savannah Pettit. Joey is the son of Bob and Karen Reed of Waynesburg. He is captain of the baseball team and received the Silver Slugger Award and All-County Award (2017 and 2018). He is also captain of the basketball team, a member of the All-County Team, secretary of the Greene County 4-H Swine Club, president of the National Honor Society, treasurer of the West Greene Engineering Club, and a member of Peer Court, Peer Mentoring and Ski Club. Joey volunteered at Valley Chapel United Methodist Church Vacation Bible School, West Greene blood drive and roadside cleanup with 4-H. He was awarded the Academic Achievement Award three times and the American Citizenship Award three times. Joey plans on studying mechanical engineering in college. Drew is the son of Mary Ellen and Andy Wise of Graysville. He is a member of National Honor Society, Quiz Bowl, Peer Mentoring, Student Government and Engineering Club. He is a member of the basketball team and runs track. Drew is a Relay for Life youth ambassador and worked as a counselor at Camp Carmel over the summer. He received academic and sports letters every year throughout high school and received a citizenship award in ninth and 10th grades. He also attends church. Drew’s future plans include majoring in civil engineering at Geneva College. Savannah is the daughter of Doug Pettit of Rutan and Nicole Jones of Graysville. As a member of West Greene FFA she is chapter president, Star Chapter Farmer and 2018 PA FFA Livestock Judging Champion. She is vice president of West Greene National Honor Society, an honor roll student, Peer Court member, a member of West Greene Softball (three-time WPIAL champs, PIAA runner up and two-time PIAA state champs; West Greene Basketball (WPIAL runner-up and PIAA qualifiers). She received the Citizenship Award. Her community service includes WGHS Greenhouse, WGHS Red Cross blood drives and Washington City Mission. Savannah plans to major in Ag Business or AG economics.
